5-[(2-Chlorophenoxy)methyl]-4-methyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol, chemical formula C9H8ClN3OS, known as 5-[(2-Chlorophenoxy)methyl]-4-methyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol), is an organic compound with a specific structure.

Nature:
-Appearance: A white solid powder
-Melting point: about 180-183°C
-Solubility: Soluble in some organic solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide and dichloromethane, slightly soluble in water

Use:
5-[(2-Chlorophenoxy)methyl]-4-methyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol has certain applications in agriculture and medicine:
-Pesticide: It can be used as a fungicide, widely used in pesticide control of rice, wheat, grapes, cotton and other crops, and has a good control effect on some pathogenic fungi.
-Medicine: It is also used to prepare some specific pharmaceutical active compounds, such as anti-tumor drugs and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Preparation Method:
The preparation of 5-[(2-Chlorophenoxy)methyl]-4-methyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol is generally carried out by the following steps:
1. ammonium sulfate and formic acid are heated in an appropriate solvent to react to generate thiourea (4-methyl-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol).
2. under alkaline conditions, the reaction of methyl thiourea and chlorophenyl methyl ether generates [(2-chloro-5-nitrophenyl) methyl] thiourea.
3. The generated [(2-chloro-5-nitrophenyl) methyl] thiourea is reacted with methylamine hydrochloride to generate the target product.
